The Consortium Story
The Consortium is a unique organization dedicated to promoting health and economic renewal in the lower Mississippi Delta region.
THE CONSORTIUM APPROACH
- Collaboration: The governing theory behind the partnership is the concept of "network science". More can be learned and accomplished through collaboration and shared information than any one entity could gain on its own.
- Effective Assessment: Collaboration and the utilization of multi-institutional and inter-disciplinary resources allow for a more effective assessment of complex issues.
THE MODEL FOR RENEWAL
Health is an economic engine. Improving the health of a region is a necessary condition for enhancing economic development. Improved health within a population will:
- improve quality of life
- create a more competitive workforce
- enhance a region's viability in supporting industry and growth
